A few more family shots

Now that I have been home for a whole day I will be leaving in the morning to stay with Grandma for a couple of days. She is having eye surgery in the morning and needs someone to help out. After that I will be home for a few days trying to catch my breath and make a little money before I fly to Texas to attend a photojournalism class. Yes, in less then a week I will be in Texas...seems a bit unreal. I shall try and make time for blogging without stressing out. :)

Me and Baby

My family does not have the blessing of little ones. We are all so close together...which I am sure has its own blessings. But this family does have little ones, and I love it! The whole reason I started visiting them and staying days at a time was because the mom needed help when this baby was born a year and a half ago. Since that time we have grown closer and I have come to love them more and more each time I get to go.
I have scads of pictures of them but I needed some more with me in them! So I asked some of the kids (who are always glad to take pictures with my camera) to take some of me and the baby.
They did a good job. Isn't she sweet? She is very small yet, makes glad as I am always happy to hold her.
Have I ever mentioned that enjoy swings? They are so much fun.

My other family

These are my dear friends that I get to stay with every once in awhile. They say I help them...I say I come for me. It is so wonderful to be able to serve them in their home, they are such a blessing. I think that it may even be harder to get a family picture of them then it is my family. But we did it! We didn't have much time so i just snapped like crazy and tried my dead level best to get one where everyone looks good...smiling had to be optional as 10 people, mostly little ones have a hard time with that concept. Anyway, just a quick post to say I am home for a day or two and I will try to update later.

I haven't wanted to post because I wanted my notecard post to stay on top! The notecard project has been such a blessing. SO many sweet people are purchasing them. The only problem is that I can't really tell if they are buying them just to support Kechia or if they actually will want more notecards in the future. After counting I will let you know how many have been sold, how many we have left and what designs will be next.

Notecards

Dear Friends,

I have a friend who is a 22 year old, Christian, young lady. She is very sick right now with a respiratory disease. She has recently started taking chemo meds. One factor that is adding to the stress of this situation is the fact that because of where she is in her life she had no health insurance. So that I can help, beyond prayers, I am using my talents and had notecards printed. We are hoping to sell these as a fundraiser so that we can ease at least a little of their financial strain.

We are selling these in packs of 6. 2 each of the 3 designs shown below (minus my name through the center), for $8 a pack + shipping. They are gorgeous, printed fantastic and are completely blank inside. Let me know if you or anyone else would like to purchase some. I would also like to know if you are interested in more, different designs, later on. If these sell well we will be printing as many as possible.

Thank you so very much,
Christina for the Glass Family

Awesome shots

The other day I helped a young girl fulfill her 4-H spring achievement assingment in the photography division. It was a lot of fun to teach her and a joy to serve her family by helping them accomplish something they were too busy to focus on.
We were out shooting pictures of spring flowers when I noticed this really cool stalk in our border garden. I had her take pictures of it and instructed her to look up at it to get rid of the distractions.
She got a neat shot and when I saw how it looked on the computer I decided to head out and grab some of my own! (Don't worry I didn't leave her to fend for herself, I waited until I had time the next day)
I think the over exposure really adds to the look, feel, and impact of these images. Since I am making my self shoot in more creative modes the above images are helping to train me in the most effective ways to use my favorite tool-my camera!

On a really really happy note I think that the notecards and packaging will be arriving today!!!! So excited. I will post later if they do come. Don't worry I won't forget.
