Grandma's House

The other day I was driving down the road thinking about all the memories I have of the places along the way. That is especially true for the road to Grandma's house. For as long as I can remember we have often travelled to Grandma's house. Some years it was only for holidays and special occasions but for many years we have gone to Grandma's many times a week, sometimes everyday.

Dad says that one looking at this picture might think it was taken in the 1980s and that the owners had a new car. It does look like that but I know better, I know that it is moms car in 2007 in front of a house that has timeless beauty. The fall leaves are so pretty at Grandma's that I felt an urgency to capture the moment just like it was while I had time.

In this day of new houses going up all around in huge subdivisions, to me this house is much more beautiful. It is beautiful because of the memories and the love that abound inside the walls and it is beautiful simply because it is my Grandma's house. I feel like I have truely captured the look and feel of "the heartland" in the fall.
